OUR Story

Dr. Weir and Dr. Bowen met through mutual acquaintances in 2017 and their families became fast friends. They live in the same neighborhood; their children go to school together and constantly want to get together for playdates. Over the last few years they felt called to join forces and start a fresh new practice with a focus on family values, patient-centered care, and cutting-edge medicine. The culmination of their combined vision is the launch of Dermatology Associates of Lincoln. They are joined by knowledgeable and compassionate Physician Assistants with a diverse background and over 20 years of combined dermatology experience.

Gina Weir, MD.

Dr. Weir is a graduate of Pius X High School, Nebraska Wesleyan University, and UNMC ‘10. She completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She returned to Lincoln with her husband, Dr. Jesse Weir of Associated Anesthesiologists, P.C. in 2014. She provided patient care at South Lincoln Dermatology for 6 years before opening Dermatology Associates of Lincoln in 2020. Dr. Weir loves all aspects of medical dermatology, but especially enjoys skin cancer detection/removal, minor cyst and lipoma removal, and management of psoriasis and severe acne. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Diplomat of the American contact Dermatitis Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Casey Bowen, MD.

Dr. Bowen is a graduate of Millard West High School, the US Air Force Academy, and UNMC ‘08. He completed his Dermatology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. In 2017, he returned to Nebraska with his wife Dr. Rebecca Bowen of ENT Specialties, P.C… He remains active in the academic community with more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles, several national presentations, and has twice given Grand rounds at UNMC. During his 20 year Air Force career he developed a particularly affinity for treating skin cancer, scars, and allergic contact dermatitis. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomat of the American contact Dermatitis Society.

Jay Arthur, PA-C

Jay is a graduate of UNMC ‘11 and has been a Dermatology Physician Assistant since 2012.

He began his career in Lincoln, then moved to Portland, Oregon for a few years while his wife finished her medical training. During his time in Oregon, he grew fond of treating patients with psoriasis and allergic contact dermatitis. He is happily married and is the proud father to their son and daughter. He and his wife are dog lovers and camping fanatics.

Christina Meyer, PA-C

Christina graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at South University in Savannah, Georgia in 2008, she was in Family Practice for her first 3 years and has been working in Dermatology since 2011. She has three young children that she loves spending time with outdoors and traveling to new places.

Meredith McManaman, PA-C

Meredith is from Lincoln, NE where she attended Lincoln Southeast High School. She then went to the University of Northern Iowa on a soccer scholarship where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.

Before beginning her journey in the medical field, she worked in a variety of specialties including an inpatient surgical center, a long-term memory care unit, and regularly volunteered in the NICU/pediatric unit. Her previous experiences allowed her to expand her knowledge to a wide variety of medical conditions and patient populations.
